Good god, y’all…
What kind of governor would encourage the people of his state to rev up their engines and run over participants at this Saturday’s “No Kings Day” rallies?
Yeah, I know. A too-easy question.
It’s our very own elected sociopath, Ron DeSantis, a man who on Wednesday said it was perfectly legal for Florida drivers to run over protestors “if they feel threatened.”
OK, so maybe that’s not technically “encouraging” folks to ram their vehicles into people whose beliefs they don’t agree with. But it’s the same kind of “wink-wink, nudge-nudge” subtext that’s so popular these days with our homegrown autocrats.
Consider the Trump administration’s decision earlier this week to restore the Confederate names of seven military bases. But with a disingenuous twist.
For instance, Fort Lee in Virginia, originally named after Gen. Robert Lee and renamed in 2023 to Fort Gregg-Adams after Lt. Gen. Arthur Gregg and Lt. Col. Charity Adams — will now honor Private Fitz Lee, a black soldier commended for heroism in the Spanish-American War. No disrespect to Private Lee, but they had to dig pretty deep to find him.
And who’s fooling who? Wink-wink, nudge-nudge. And long live Robert E. Lee!

Same thing with Bumper-Car Ron. He’s not really encouraging the MAGA crowd to run their vehicles into protestors. But I guaran-damn-tee you there will be some misguided idiots driving around on No Kings Day just dying to find a crowd of folks so they can plow into them and later say they felt “threatened.”
And DeSatan will likely take their side. That’s why he spearheaded the so-called “Anti-Riot Law” back in 2021, giving immunity to any Florida drivers who felt threatened by “Black Lives Matter” protestors.
In other words: Racists, start your engines!

At the very least, Bumper-Car Ron’s latest exhortation was meant to scare folks away from this Saturday’s rallies.
Which leads to Today’s Poll.
That’s all, folks. Keep the peace. And see you back here soon.
If I was surrounded and in fear of being attacked I would drive real slow and hope they would move out of the way!
Of course my camera would be on too.
I’m in Texas and I’m not proud of it but I’m scared to go.
