Delicious! A tale for the ages! Yes you might have added a thunderbolt or two and Debbie on Mount Olympus with the recipe tablet - but who needs ‘em when you got the real thing…right?
Gainesville, 1965. Old guy sold barbeque down a hill at the bottom of his driveway. His homemade sauces had numbers and names, mildest to hottest. The latter had perhaps the best hot sauce name in the history of earth: White Jesus.
Bob if that secret sauce is so good..How would it be on select body parts? And going back to a previous conversation? Is there a trade in the future? I would send you a mailing address in a Prvt FB message
Love this!!! DEBBIE rules. Such respect for tradition is hard to come by these days. Brava! And how lucky for you Bob, that she chose you to spend a lifetime together!
Bob, that's a great story. I remember back in the 80's when at UF, there was a similar Bar-B-Q place wayyyyy east from downtown that had been an old gas station but in my time was serving great Q. I remember seeing Floyd "Sonny" Tillman from Sonny's eating in there all the time. Wonder what he was trying to learn other than getting some good eats.
I remember that place. I can taste it even. But I can't recall the name of it. I do recall eating at that first Sonny's in G'ville. Mr. Tillman was ahead of the curve...
Damn, the name of that place is on the fringe of my memory, too. I remember it was painted blue. And it was worth skipping third period Humanities to eat lunch there.
The fireworks from Mobley sauce often come the next morning. Love y’all…
I know people who know people.
I know people who know the people who you know

Debbie will always reside on Mt. Olympus. I am but a happy mortal …
Great read! I have such fond memories of July Fourth spent at Ormond by the Sea … Arthur’s sauce depended on the amount of Cutty Sark flowing :-)
Kitty made the best slaw ❤️
That airstream had the best AC!
Oh yeah, those were the days. And shrimp boiled in beer.

I need me some of that. Can I get a hallelujah?
We had baby backs with Bud Mobley’s this afternoon. Who needs fireworks. I am content. Thank you Debbie and Bob.
Good story. Aunt Freda, Herbs mom, made a great yorkshire pudding. She passed the recipe to Wendy.
Rick, you're the second person on this thread to mention Yorkshire pudding. I take this as a sign. I'm gonna have to make some ...
Maybe call Wendy & she may give you recipe. Hope all is well with you & family.
Yeah, mon. All is great with kids and grandkids and assorted circling planets. Hope this finds you enjoying yourself…
Great stuff...My Mom's Yorkshire Pudding was pretty famous with my friends but no great story like this
You ever put BBQ sauce on Yorkshire pudding? Nope, neither have I. Just a thought…

I kinda figured I might hear from you re: a trade. Yeah, that’ll work.
Check your FB before Monday

Yes, I'm lucky. But I've give Debbie plenty of opportunity for regrets...
Wonderful story! Happy, saucy 4th!
Back at ya, Donna… thanks
Love this story! So just how did you meet a debutante from Arkansas????
Debbie claims Missouri. She was saved by moving to Florida when she was seven. And, as you well know, she would never claim to be a debutante.
Happy 4th. Enjoy that secret sauce.
Thanks. And I might pour just a touch in my bloody mary. But I can't let my lovely wife see me do that.

Pres and Ed’s BBQ on 5th Avenue…
So happy we got to taste it! Happy July 4th to the Morris Family!
And you will taste it again. You abided by the rules.
