I very much like your Paynes Prairie painting. It reminds me of a day, 1970s-something, when I was cycling past the prairie on a blustery day and spied a flock of birds that looked just like this one although I am wondering why the bird in the foreground is wearing a red cap when this park is zoned for orange and blue. My Artist Statement: Prairie, trees, wind, birds, one with a red cap.

Well, hell, is this the Michael Shay from Daytona who I know from the University of South Carolina and then UF? If so, thanks big time for being a paid subscriber. If not, thanks big time for etc.

One in the same. Now in Ormond Beach with wife and daughter, thinking of sticking around for awhile. Great reading you again. Gifted a month to my sister in Winter Park. She's a fan.

The WP Voice brought me here with your witty writing …and now I wish we were neighbors. Was the funnel cake locally sourced?

Of course it was locally sourced ... with used funnels from the Firestone shop on 17-92. Thanks for reading ...

I’m not gonna lie… I really like the painting. It screams Paynes Prairie; also a favorite place of mine.
